Revealing Abba in Psalm 74
| O Abba, why do men say that You have rejected them forever? Why do they think Your anger is against them? Are they not Your beloved, which You purchase of old; to give Yourself as their inheritance, to redeem them from death and corruption, seating them in Me at Your right hand, where they can dwell in You and You in them; Lift Me up that I might crush the deceptions and desolations under My feet; even all that the enemy has done to bring labor and toil in the earth; For the enemy roars in the midst of Your congregation; speaking lies and pointing to death as their proof; Like a famed woodsman wielding his axe upon the thick trees; the enemy has brought down Your beloved, and marred their image; Death has defiled Your beloved and cast them to the ground; intending to destroy all of them and profane Your name in their hearts, Abba; They are blind to the truth that they are Your beloved; they cannot see anyone who will speak on their behalf; nor do they have any hope that their affliction will ever end; O Abba, how long will the enemy harass and molest Your beloved and bring defamation to Your name; Turn not away Your hand; even Me, Your right hand, plucked from the midst of Your bosom. For You Abba are My King; and from the beginning, You have been working salvation in the midst of the earth; You have divided the seas by Your strength, breaking the head of the dragon in the waters; so, will You destroy death; Just as You broke the head of Pharaoh’s army in the sea; Abba, Your great works are the food for life of those who cry out to You in their day of affliction, resting in You and Your ability to save them from death; You broke opened the springs and the rushing water; and You dried up rivers that never run dry, providing safe passage; You reign over the day and the night also; You have prepared Me; the light and the life of all men; You have set all the borders of the earth; and appointed times and seasons; Remember this; death has beaten and accused Your beloved; O Abba, causing them to curse and reject Your name; O deliver not the life of Your beloved to be overcome by the corruption and death in the earth; rather let Us not forget those who seeing they have no ability to give themselves life look to You Abba; Beholding the promise of eternal life in Me; for the world is filled with the way that brings corruption and death; O Abba, let not those afflicted by sin and death in the earth; who call upon Your name ever be ashamed; let all those who see they are powerless to raise themselves up from death; look to You to receive the same blessing and life they see in Me, as their inheritance; Arise O Abba; defending and declaring Your great name in raising Me to life and immortality; remember how it was death that caused men to curse and reject You daily; Forget not and have no repentance to utterly destroy the voice of the enemy, death, which told Your beloved they lacked life and caused their hearts to labor and toil continually, bringing it to an end. |
